Michelle Gomez

Michelle Gomez received her certification in spiritual direction through the Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality at Fairfield University. She also works as a contracted Program Associate for the Ignatian Spiritual Direction Initiative at the Office of Ignatian Spirituality (OIS). 

She entered the path to spiritual direction and Ignatian Spirituality through work in parent ministry, where she continues to plan and facilitate programs for Jesuit school parents. She created the Ignatian Parent Network, an effort to connect Jesuit school parent spiritual groups.  

She has completed the 19th Annotation and the OIS Magis Program, an adult Ignatian formation program. She is a member of the OIS/CURA Community, through which she and a colleague led a training program in Ignatian Spirituality for spiritual mentors at Thrive for Life Prison ministry. She desires to promote the beauty and openness of the Spiritual Exercises and the spiritual fullness they offer.  She is grateful for the instrumental spiritual direction she has received and is eager to share this ministry with others.

Michelle holds a BA from Fordham University and an MA from New York University. 

She lives with her husband in Westchester, NY and has three adult sons.
