Ignatian Spirituality
It is said that St. Ignatius’ great gift to the Church, to the People of God, are the Spiritual Exercises. All things “Ignatian” flow forth from the internal knowledge gained through the Exercises: discernment of spirits, “finding God in all things,” becoming “men and women for and with others.”
Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are deeply rooted in Ignatian Spirituality. As Ignatian women, we desire to make the Spiritual Exercises available to many more people, for centuries of experience has proved that such an encounter with Jesus Christ leads to the transformation of the individual, their relationships, and their particular way of responding through their concrete decisions and paths in life. To embark on such a spiritual journey is most certainly a personal gift, but it is also a gift for the world.
