Embodied Prayer: Walking the Labyrinth
November 3 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Lisa Hibberd will guide us in a beautiful afternoon of getting in touch with our bodies, using breath-work, stretches, and gentle movements as we reflect on our wholeness and reconnect with the natural world. We will walk the outdoor labyrinth, an ancient spiritual practice, and take time for quiet reflection and journaling. There will also be the option to use a handheld labyrinth, which each participant will take home with them. We will conclude by spending some time in sacred sharing and exploring how you can incorporate movement into your daily prayer life at home.
A labyrinth is an ancient spiritual resource that offers the opportunity to invite people into a deeper spiritual connection by quieting the mind, opening the heart, and engaging the body. Walking a labyrinth allows dedicated time and space for prayer, meditation, and thoughtful reflection. It is a place to retreat, restore, and renew. The labyrinth provides nonjudgmental space for community building, healing, and contemplation. They may be found at churches, synagogues, hospitals, wellness centers, spas, prisons, schools and universities, playgrounds and community centers, as well as backyards and beaches.
