We have always heard that Advent is a time of waiting – and yet, Jesus came 2000 years ago. So, what are we waiting for? We are waiting to celebrate the ongoing coming of Emmanuel – God-with-us, the God who continues to come again and again into our lives and the life of our world.
This is the mystery of God’s presence in us, in our world – the mystery of the Incarnation – the mystery of the amazing LOVE of the God who wanted to share our human experience, our joys and our pain.
Who is Emmanuel?
A God We Can Touch
Who enters our human world and our human experience
our human joys and struggles
our human fragility, pain, emotions,
A God who continues to come daily into our lives
In moments on joy and moments of difficulty … Emmanuel is there!!!
And walks with us every step of our lives
And is able to sprout new life out of our dead stumps
This Day of Prayer will help us deepen our understanding of the depths of God’s Love for us and his desire to enter our lives and be God-with-us. It will prepare us to respond by walking this Advent Journey with Emmanuel!!!
