Labyrinth Retreat with Anne Montgomery Schmid

Join us in community as we embark on a labyrinth journey.
Come with your curiosity and willingness as Anne Montgomery Schmid, Certified Labyrinth Facilitator and Founder of Encircled Grace, will explore with us this ancient spiritual practice and serve as our guide for the labyrinth walk. During our time together, you will learn about concepts, history, and benefits of labyrinth walking. You will then have opportunity to engage in holy listening while walking our newly created outdoor labyrinth. If inclement weather, our walk will take place inside on two different labyrinths. This nonjudgmental path opens new possibilities for prayer and spiritual practice. Time for journaling, group reflection, and questions will follow the walk. Please bring a journal or sketchpad for time of individual reflection. Lunch will be provided.

ABOUT LABYRINTHS
A labyrinth is an ancient spiritual resource that offers opportunity to invite people into a deeper spiritual connection by quieting the mind, opening the heart, and engaging the body. Walking a labyrinth allows dedicated time and space for prayer, meditation, and thoughtful reflection. It is a place to retreat, restore, and renew. The labyrinth provides nonjudgmental space for community building, healing, and contemplation. They may be found at churches, synagogues, hospitals, wellness centers, spas, prisons, schools and universities, playgrounds and community centers, as well as backyards and beaches.
This retreat has reached capacity, but you can sign up to be on the waiting list if spaces become available. Those on the waiting list who are unable to attend the retreat will be offered the first chance to register for our next Labyrinth retreat on a future date.

Facilitator Bio:
Anne is the founder of Encircled Grace and a Veriditas Certified Labyrinth Facilitator. Feeling a natural call to the labyrinth, Anne’s journey has taken her to training with Lauren Artress, an internationally known spokeswoman in the labyrinth community, walking labyrinths as she travels to all 50 states, and sharing her gifts with diverse communities. Anne brings her calm presence, engaging storytelling, and labyrinth knowledge to all those seeking this contemplative practice. Offering safe, nonjudgmental space, Anne facilitates meditative walks for generational groups and individuals, conducts custom workshops and events for organizations, and serves as a guest speaker for religious and community events. Graduating Cum Laude from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (now known as Jefferson University), Anne received her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing with a minor in psychology.
