Shawl Ministry

Date: May 10, 2018 - 10:30am to 12:00pm

Details:

In 1998 Janet Severi Bristow and Victoria Gaio started this ministry of solidarity as a result of their studies with Sister Therese Winter, MMS.  Compassion and the love of knitting / crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every stitch so the blessing ripples from person-to-person, with both the giver and receiver feeling the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, mothering God.

Sister Kathy Gazie, acj, the facilitator of our Prayer Shawl Ministry has years’ of experience in conducting this Prayer Shawl Ministry.  She will be happy to teach you the simple steps of knitting or crocheting so no experience is necessary, but all are welcome to join this group!

Friends interested in doing this work of Mercy for another on an occasion of joy or challenge, gather with Sister Kathy for this prayerful experience.
