Our Social Justice Mission

We live in a broken and troubled world, weighed down by injustice and oppression. It is a world filled with lines of starving people‚ invaded territories‚ the expressionless faces of people whose rights are violated‚ meaningless deaths and untold suffering. A world in which the awakened heart will discover voices clamoring for justice and hands outstretched to help.

At St. Raphaela Center, we keep alive St. Raphaela’s option for the poor and oppressed. The Handmaids are eucharistic women for whom the Eucharist and social justice are inseparable‚ women who have recaptured the heartbeat of Christ in the Eucharist, pulsating with special love for the poor and powerless.

At St. Raphaela Center‚ through workshops‚ conferences, and days of prayer, we offer the opportunity to discover in the Eucharist a theological basis for the social doctrine of the Catholic Church and a challenge to the injustice in our world.
